Perequê is where the island works, and DownTown runs on that rhythm. It opens early for people heading out and holds the whole day, until late afternoon.

It is the most direct of the three houses: you come in, sort things out, grab a coffee, eat well and move on. People who live here already know. People passing through find out it is the most practical address on the island to eat properly without making an occasion of it.

Getting there

In Perequê, near the Mares Ilha Mall, the São João school and the fish market. The easiest house to reach by car if you are staying on the south side of the island.

  • Plate handed over by the team: a slice of toasted bread with pesto, burrata, cherry tomatoes and basil.
  • The DownTown dining room early in the day: a branch-covered ceiling on wooden beams, island photographs on the white wall and wooden tables with blue banquettes.
  • The DownTown façade seen through the leaves: the Ilhabela Republic sign under the branch eaves and the glass doors opening onto the dining room.
  • Breakfast table with a cappuccino in the house cup, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and a cookie, next to an open newspaper.
